Joyous Noel

After four attempts, I finally get to meet Noel Fielding, one half of cult comedy duo The Mighty Boosh and possibly the hottest – or rather, coolest – “showbiz” property of the moment. First he has flu, then a bad hangover (too late a night out with his friend Johnny Borrell of Razorlight), and then sudden work commitments on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (sitting in for team captain Bill Bailey). But when I do get to meet him, there’s something so sweetly guileless and unguarded about this 34-year-old, you can’t possibly be cross. Taking offence at Fielding’s lack of organisational skills would be like minding that a four-year-old forgets his school satchel.
